Pain and transformation

The marvelous richness of human experience
would lose something of rewarding joy
if there were no limitations to overcome.
The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful
if there were no dark valleys to traverse.

Everyone experiences pain - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. It is a wake-up call and a teacher – if you allow it to be. If you let yourself feel it deeply, engage and explore it instead of ignoring it, it can positively transform you. You don’t need to avoid it at all costs; if you do it will probably just keep bothering you until you address it. By feeling your pain you don’t become a victim of it, you are simply listening to it so you can understand it, take action, then get back in control of you life after you’ve grown through whatever it was that was hindering you.

It is not the easy or convenient life
for which I search,
but life lived to the edge
of all that I may be.
