Life on life's terms

In life, there is a duality
whether we like it or not.
Good days, difficult ones…
It’s important to remember on
the challenging days not to be
flattened by our circumstances.

We can make the choice to
let difficulty harden or soften us,
feel victimized or empowered,
be defeated or stand strong,
give into fear or push past it,
put up walls or be compassionate.

We can’t shield ourselves from
the human experience,
but we can move more fluidly
through life by practicing acceptance
rather than resistance.

It’s helpful to remember that
pain is the catalyst for softening
our edges, expanding our hearts,
and gaining wisdom…
