If we can share our story with someone
who responds with empathy and understanding,
shame can't survive.” ― Brené Brown

A lot of us have been taught that asking for help is a sign of weakness. But it's simply not true. It takes courage to reach out. Years ago, my emotional baggage caught up with me. I couldn't even pretend that I could manage it anymore, so I sought help. I was in a hole so deep, I lost sight of hope. I needed someone to throw me a rope so I could climb out. Asking for help was the kindest, most humane thing I could have done for myself.
