Holding love loosely

Don’t confuse love with longing.

Love is soft, bending, forgiving…

Longing is a form of neediness.

Would we think to capture a butterfly...

possibly crippling its wings...

by holding on to it with tight fists?

Love doesn’t carry a strong emotion.

It’s feels gentle, warm, promising…
 

inviting us closer with no expectations.
