Another kind of freedom

Is love complicated or do we confuse love with need?
Isn't love soft, giving, easy, joyful, forgiving....?
So what are these other feelings of longing, aching, wanting...
the highs and lows...
the crazy obsessing...
one minute you're deliriously happy...
the next, you think life is over...
being dependent on someone for your happiness...
  losing your sense of self?

We all have unhealed areas of our life.
And because we do, our needs get in the way of love....
we may try to get others to fulfill us...
but it doesn't work.
We set ourselves up to be hurt, disappointed...
by becoming overly attached to our source of love.
I believe that love is free...
and that need comes with a price...
a high price; unhappiness, bondage, drama...

What causes us to suffer over love?
The answer is simple.
We want something from someone that we aren't getting...
so suffering is caused by our needs...
the need for something unattainable...
something we should be giving to ourselves.

The goal is freedom...
to be emotionally independent...
to take responsibility for our own happiness...
to work on our unhealed stuff...
and to share our hearts freely with others...
expecting nothing...
having no hidden agenda...
offering only pure, unconditional love.

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit... But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person
who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own
attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear
down your walls and smack you awake...

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your
obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so
desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life...
