Blessing others

A Course in Miracles teaches us...
that giving and receiving are the same.
What this means is that we get back exactly...
 what we give to others.
We will get no more or less than what we offer.
A good exercise is to take a moment, close your  eyes,
and say "for everyone, I wish______.
You fill in the blanks.
Ask yourself, what do I wish for?".
 Offer to the world.
Watch how it returns to you!

Soft petals

“I prefer by far the warmth and softness to mere brilliancy and coldness.

Some people remind me of sharp dazzling diamonds.

Valuable but lifeless and loveless.

Others, of the simplest field flowers,

with hearts full of dew and with all the tints of celestial beauty

reflected in their modest petals.”

Being kind to myself

I made several mistakes with the cat doll (above). First I was unhappy the outfit I made her and then color of her stripes (gold) . At one point I got so discouraged I thought about tossing it out. But instead I waited a couple days and then redid everything. And here she is!!!

It was a good reminder that mistakes are merely learning experiences. Mistakes don't have to diminish my work. This applies to all areas of my life. I often make mistakes. I don't need to beat myself up over it. I merely need to correct it and move on...

Seeing your true beauty

The beauty of nature on my walk...

Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused.”

Acts of kindness

Have you felt the weight of the world on your shoulders,
then someone gives you a nice compliment...
and it changes your whole day?

Sometimes we may receive a smile...
 that catches us by surprise,
especially when it comes from a stranger...
a stranger with a generous heart.

These gifts are precious.
Return the kindness...
by paying it forward to someone else.
You never know whose day...
 you may get to change.

Love letters

You may not know this about me - I write myself love letters - sometimes daily.
The way I write is also the way I dialogue with myself...a soothing way to self-talk.
It's something I taught myself to do...re-parenting the child in me...with love and kindness.
Try it....watch how it will changes the way you feel. Here's a couple of my letters:

Dear precious one

I will always protect you…watch over you…
keep you safe…you are my beloved...
beautiful child...sleep peacefully knowing that
I am watching over you…caring for you…protecting
you from harm… I love you, baby girl…you mean the
world to me.

Dear beloved child
I know you feel insecure and have a fear that others
won’t love you…remember that I LOVE YOU…
SHINE, my love…you are the child of my heart,
my breath, my world…know how much you are
loved today, tomorrow and every day…
Fall safely into my arms of protection…you are safe
…you are loved…rest assured my child,
ALL IS WELL.

 Gotta love that face!
 Always reading the paper...
 And smoking his cigar.
Really Jack...talking on your phone while biking?

Being good to yourself

I love this little box a friend of mine gave me. The first thing I put in it was a pink rock
shaped like a heart that I found on a beach walk.

****

Have you ever noticed how certain things cause your gut to twist up? Personally, I do not like
that gut-wrenching feeling and try to avoid it as much as possible. I think though,
I used to ignore it. Now I enjoy things that free my gut from being restricted.

Here are a few of things I find gut-wrenching:

Movies with that are scary or too dramatic. I don't like sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next any better than I like getting on a roller coaster.

Guilt- a distorted view that says I have committed a great offense... which is not true. If I do
anything that feels wrong, I make amends for it. And what happened in the past is over..done...finished...carrying guilt from the past is unneccessary.

Worry- fear of life...not putting my faith into action.

Pushing myself to do more because I don't believe that I am enough or I do enough.

Analyzing- spending zillions of pointless hours in my head trying out things I will never understand.

Hanging on when it's time to let go and move forward.

How about you? What gets you all twisted up?

I had to get a pic of these yellow feet. It looked like someone had painted them on.

An act of love

You may think the little things you do...
are not important enough to make a difference...
but they absolutely do.

Do you know you are a creator...
a healer...
a force of goodness?

Don’t ever forget...
you can change someone's life...
with something as simple as a warm smile.

A pure heart...
 can make a big difference...
 in the world.

Responding with love

Gary Zukav - author of "Seat of the Soul"

In cold or warmth, light or dark, deprivation or abundance,
We can choose to respond with love or react in fear...

We begin to see the painful AND the joyful circumstances of our lives
As opportunities to expand in love...

We can experience anger, jealousy, loss, rage, or resentment without acting on it.
We can act in love instead...

We can choose what we will contribute to Life...

We can greet all the experiences of our lives joyfully and use them all wisely.

The human emotional system can be broken down into roughly two elements:
fear and love.
Love is of the soul.
Fear is of the personality

Sharing a smile

Taken at Lowry Zoo in Naples

What opens your heart...

Gives you a sense of belonging...

And brings you happiness?

Feeling loved and appreciated...

Loving yourself...

And offering unconditional love to others.

From the Velveteen Rabbit: "...Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..."
