Say "yes" to life

Saying “yes” to life will quiet
the inner conflicts...
giving you a feeling of well-being.

Do you know that all your experiences are...
but fleeting moments...
nothing lasts forever...
allow things to be as they are.

When we let go of resistance to our circumstances...
 often things improve quickly.

Ignore the stories that fear creates about your circumstances...
just say "yes" to life instead...
tell yourself "I accept my circumstances".

Surrender is when you no longer ask...
“why is this happening to me?”
don't struggle to find answers with your limited mind...
learn to be comfortable with "not knowing".

Say “yes” to life, accepting this moment just as it is...

Making changes

It's a waste of your precious life to live...

 regretting the past...

 carrying around guilt...

 blaming others...

being envious...

or being hard on yourself.

If you want things to change...

change begins with...

a positive attitude...

your ability to forgive...

letting go of the past...

and working on self-esteem.

Take...

loving responsibility...

for your life...

and watch...

what miracles happen.

Faith...When you come to the edge...
and are about to step off into the darkness...
faith is knowing one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.

The rules of life

Pippi wakes up happy and ready to play. She reminds me to "live in the moment".

****

Life has rules. They just may not be the ones you think.
It starts on the playground or sitting around the kitchen table as a kid. “The early bird gets the worm,” we’re told. “Slow and steady wins the race.” “Play fair and people will play fair with you.” “Good things happen to good people.” “Keep your faith, and your dreams will come true.”

From day one, these are the rules we’re taught to live by. We get them from our parents, our teacher...as we grow older, they form the foundation of our hopes, expectations, and beliefs. In theory, it’s a great system. All we have to do is treat people fairly, set positive goals, and work hard to achieve them. Since life is fair, everything works out in the end.

Here’s the catch: these rules aren’t real.

We spend a lot of time and energy avoiding and denying the Real Rules of Life. We struggle within ourselves, trying desperately not to look these truths in the eyes. And yet, by acknowledging their existence, one by one, we can begin to make peace with life.

Take the fact that we age, for example. Making peace with our own mortality, coming to terms with changes in our bodies...

We can also recognize that we will probably suffer heartbreaking losses and disappointments during the course of our lives...

...peace and contentment come when you understand life’s terms.

We all travel different paths in this life. Some we choose. Some choose us. The path that chose me was one of loss. It was set into motion by one defining moment that transformed my life 15 years ago. The loss of my daughter, Jenna, and my life as her father, has brought me to where I am right now: writing about the lessons I’ve learned along life’s long, uneven course.

An act of love

You may think the little things you do...
are not important enough to make a difference...
but they absolutely do.

Do you know you are a creator...
a healer...
a force of goodness?

Don’t ever forget...
you can change someone's life...
with something as simple as a warm smile.

A pure heart...
 can make a big difference...
 in the world.

Love letters

Dear little one
You are so loved…little tiny wonder girl…sweet…kind…my precious child…don’t doubt yourself…step into your confidence…you can trust yourself…no more self-doubt…don’t look for others to validate you…the world is yours.

I write...

 love letters to myself...

soothing words of encouragement...

things I didn't hear growing up.

I still have a little girl in me...

who needs someone to be a champion for her...

someone who never abandons her...

and who is patient and kind.

Writing letters to my little girl...

 is one of the ways...

 that has helped me....

to heal my past.

*****

I enjoyed riding bikes as a young girl, and still do.
My friend Lisa and I make an adventure out it. We both love nature!
Yesterday we came across armadillos and an interesting rodent...

A gift from the Universe

When something doesn’t feel right...
in your gut….
it probably isn't.

We have all the gift of “knowing”...
 right from wrong.

Your "knowing" gets stronger...
with practice.

When something is right...
 it feels peaceful...

When something is wrong...
things feel unsettled, disturbing...
you may find yourself rationalizing, justifying...
that is ego leading you off the right path.

Follow the wisdom of your "knowing"...
it's gift to you from the Universe!!!

Isn't life good?

The ability to have a positive outlook...
is one of the most amazing gifts...
a person can have.

Seeing everything as beautiful...
  in the world.

Every single day...
 no matter what...
there is something to be thankful for.

Look at the pretty blue sky...
 breathe the fresh air...
hear the birds sing.
 Isn't life good?

Have a wonderful...
thankful day!!!

A simple "thank you"

If the only prayer you ever say in your whole life is "thank you", it will be enough.
 Meister Eckhart

****

I often find myself saying "thank you God" throughout the day.

My gratitude isn't because God has given me all my wants and desires.

What I'm grateful for is the peace in me that surpasses my own understanding.

There's a well of joy and serenity within...even when life throws me another challenge/lesson.

Most my life, I chased happiness...and had many successful moments of it...but it didn't last long and it didn't bring me peace.

If you're not getting what you desire, can you trust there is a better plan for your life?

Remember; God dreams BIGGER dreams for us than we do.

“Silence is the language of God,
All else is poor translation.”

What matters most

One day when you are very old…
When your life is almost over…
What will matter most are the people you love...
and who love you back.

It's not going to matter...
What kind of car you drove..
Where you traveled to...
Or what you career was.

 Don't wait until later...
Before you recognize the value
Of your relationships.

Let your loved ones know...
How important they are to you...
Treat them kindly...
Be generous with your HEART.

but merely to seek and find all the barriers
within yourself that you have built against it.”

You are soooo beautiful

Do you to know that being beautiful it has nothing to do with the way that you look...
How you dress...
The way you style your hair...
The color of your eyes.

Beauty is the light that shines from your soul...
It comes from the way you treat yourselves and others...
And from learning the art of living...
  A humble, grateful life.

Feeling content

My recent trip to Naples. A quick getaway!

******

Sometimes we think that once we have something we always wanted, we'll finally be happy...
if we just had the right friends, met the right guy, got the right job, had more money...
then we'll be happy, right? Wrong!

This kind of happiness has a short shelf life...
only fleeting moments...
then it slips through our fingers...
here and gone again.

The truth is that if we can't be happy without something,
we won't really be happy with it either...
for very long.

True happiness comes from how we feel inside...
the relationship we have with ourselves...
the way we are living our lives...
how much gratitude we feel...
and what we contribute to the world.

Don't depend on external things for your happiness.

Being brave

Being brave does not mean that you're never afraid.
Fear is a normal response to danger...
but will turn into anxiety if we give it too much power.
Don't let fear grow bigger than your faith.

****
Fear is a lack of trust in ourselves, and because of this, we don’t trust Life. We don’t trust that we’re being taken care of on a higher level, so we feel we must control everything from the physical level.

Obviously, we’re going to feel fear because we can’t control everything in our lives.
Trust is what we learn when we want to overcome our fears. It’s called “taking a leap of faith” and trusting in the Power within... Remember, the Power that supplies our breath is the same Power that created the Universe.

You’re one with all of Life. The more you love yourself and trust Life, the more that Life will love you, support you, and guide you...

At any moment you have the opportunity of choosing love or fear. In moments of fear, I remember the sun. It’s always shining even though clouds may obscure it for a while... When the fears come, choose to see them as passing clouds in the sky, and let them go on their way.

Love is the opposite of fear. The more we’re willing to love and trust who we are, the more we attract those qualities to ourselves. When we’re on a streak of really being frightened or upset or worried or not liking ourselves, isn’t it amazing how everything goes wrong in our lives? It’s the same when we really love ourselves. Everything starts to go on a winning streak, and we get the green lights and the parking spaces. We get up in the morning and the day flows beautifully.

that says I'll try again tomorrow.

A bit of wisdom

The mango tree was full of beautiful fruit. Yummy!

*****

Love the lyrics in this song; SUNSCREEN by Baz Luhrmann

...do one thing everyday that scares you...

don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours...

don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself.

remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults...

don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t...

...enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own..

DANCE…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
